In the Ariyapariyesana, “The Noble Search” (one of the more famous autobiographical narratives from the sutra collections), the Buddha recounts his departure from home in search of the truth, his tutelage with other teachers and his enlightenment. Referring to himself as a bodhisattva (an early occurrence of the term), and portraying enlightenment as the outcome of long reflection rather than an ecstatic moment of revelation, the Budhha describes, in terms both simple and sober, the bodhisattva path to nirvana.
Fully enlightened, the Buddha then proceeds to relinquish inaction, and, out of compassion for all beings, teaches the dharma to those with the will to learn it, referred as those “with little dust in their eyes”.
The recitation of the formula “I go for refuge to the Buddha / I go for refuge to the dharma / I go for refuge to the sangha” is the most fundamental Buddhist practice, said to derive from the days following the Buddha’s enlightenment.
lyrics
You, of little dust in your eyes…
Go for refuge to the Buddha.
Go for refuge to the dharma.
Go for refuge to the sangha.
Thus, open the doors to the Deathless,
To ascend the palace of the dharma.
And by craving’s ceasing freed,
Become all transcended… a knower of all.
Search,
Above this human breed, engulfed in sorrow.
Search,
Above this word that has become blind.
Search.
Thus, beat the drum of the Deathless,
To set in motion the wheel of the dharma.
And with fires quenched and extinguished,
Become all vanquisher… renouncing all.
Go for refuge to the Buddha.
Go for refuge to the dharma.
Go for refuge to the sangha.
Search,
Between perception and non-perception.
Search,
Between Gaya and Enlightenment.
Search.
Go for refuge to the Buddha.
Go for refuge to the dharma.
Go for refuge to the sangha.
You, who seek the Truth…
Search.

Like lions among men, THE FIRSTBORN come forth as a true force of nature within a movement where mindless, continuous
repetition of the same old formulas is often mistaken for talent. The new album «Lions Among Men» is now out and it represents the ultimate stride forward in the path treaded since the band’s inception in the mid-nineties, following 2008’s critically acclaimed «The Noble Search»....more

An interesting fusion of black metal and jazz, with inspiration from various other forms of metal. There is a lot to like here, and many pleasant surprises. However, it does not always seem to form a cohesive whole. spawnofchaos
The Philly trio have been making technical but not impenetrable instrumental metal for nearly two decades. Their latest shreds, of course. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 8, 2016

One day I came across this title on YouTube and it intrigued me. The nostalgy hit me so much that I went back on IRC in 2019. Thanks to that, I met my girlfriend after being single for 15 years, and moved to a new town 6 hours away from me. All of that because of a click on that song.
Music has the power to change people's life and this track is my personal proof of that fact. swipesomething
