The last centuries of Buddhism in India (roughly the ninth through twelfth centuries) saw the rise of figures called siddhas, a term which might be translated as “accomplished ones” or “adepts”. Their name derived from the possession of magical powers (siddhi).
Numerous works attributed to the siddhas have been preserved, some being commentaries on tantric rituals, some being songs. These, while relatively straightforward, make mention of many of the most important themes of the genre: the natural purity of the mind, the description of the ultimate reality as innate, the goal of achieving great bliss, and references to yogic practices in coded vocabulary.
The social class of the siddhas and the deeds they performed suggested their disregard for (and even transcendence of) wordly and monastic conventions of property and morality, at odds with the other Buddhist vehicles.
lyrics
Where neither mind nor wind roam,
Where neither sun nor moon enter…
There, bring your mind to rest.
Know your mind exactly as it is:
It is like water mixed with water.
Where the sense faculties dissolve,
Where the innate self nature is shattered…
There, is the body of the innate.
In this supreme great bliss there is no self or other.
When bound it runs in all directions,
When released, it stays still.
That which shackles the ignorant... liberates the wise.
When one has purified his mind,
When one is free from karma…
Then, one enters the city of the conquerors.
Know your body exactly as it is:
It is compassion, and emptiness its consort.
In this supreme great bliss there is no being or non-being.
Now, shattered are the (solid) pillars of the word.
Cut off (are) the many bonds of samsara…
At peace, you entered the (lotus) bed of the innate.
Know the nature of the innate exactly as it is:
In it there is no beginning, no middle, no end.
In this supreme great bliss there is neither existence nor non-existence.
Take the three refuges as a ship,
Cross the ocean of existence.
In it, you perceive no waves,
As your mind goes to great bliss…
Words cannot grasp its true nature.

Like lions among men, THE FIRSTBORN come forth as a true force of nature within a movement where mindless, continuous
repetition of the same old formulas is often mistaken for talent. The new album «Lions Among Men» is now out and it represents the ultimate stride forward in the path treaded since the band’s inception in the mid-nineties, following 2008’s critically acclaimed «The Noble Search»....more
I’m glad I got that code for this from KillingForCompany. I like what I hear from this band. Will definitely get more albums from this band. Ryan "Demon Master Reviews" Arnold
An interesting fusion of black metal and jazz, with inspiration from various other forms of metal. There is a lot to like here, and many pleasant surprises. However, it does not always seem to form a cohesive whole. spawnofchaos
The Philly trio have been making technical but not impenetrable instrumental metal for nearly two decades. Their latest shreds, of course. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 8, 2016
One day I came across this title on YouTube and it intrigued me. The nostalgy hit me so much that I went back on IRC in 2019. Thanks to that, I met my girlfriend after being single for 15 years, and moved to a new town 6 hours away from me. All of that because of a click on that song.
Music has the power to change people's life and this track is my personal proof of that fact. swipesomething
